The Geodetic Survey Division (GSD) has carried out its mandate and serviced Canada for over 90 years by developing a national framework for horizontal position and elevations. Today, it uses satellie observations, interferometric radio astronomy and gravity observations, complemented by computer modelling, to achieve its mandate.
