The GFMD is organized annually: the first was held in July 2007 in Brussels and the second in October 2008 in Manila.

OBS

The forum is designed to encourage international cooperation, enhance inter-State dialogue and discuss and promote new policy ideas in the field of migration and its interrelation with development. The dialogue seeks to reach a common and evidence-based understandings on areas where migration policies have the greatest potential to contribute to development, and where development policies take greater account of migration and its potential benefits for development.
