Sa surface sera d'au moins 1 m² par habitant desservi. Il sera garni jusqu'au niveau du tuyau d'amenée de matériaux calibrés de fort diamètre (6 à 11 cm) et recouvert d'une couche de cailloux ou de graviers. Il sera terminé par une buse de ciment affleurant au niveau du sol et fermée par un tampon ou par une tôle forte. Il est ainsi possible de toujours connaître la position du puits absorbant d'en vérifier le fonctionnement et, au besoin, d'enlever et de nettoyer les matériaux de remplissage.
