La franchise associative. Elle concerne les franchises dans lesquelles le franchiseur est associé au capital du franchisé et le franchisé détient une participation dans la société du franchiseur. Ce système est souvent appliqué aux Etats-Unis où les franchiseurs prennent des participations dans les sociétés de leurs franchisés. Ceci leur permet de bien maîtriser de l'intérieur leur réseau et de corriger éventuellement la trajectoire de développement. Ils s'assurent ainsi de la qualité du feedback de l'expérience des franchisés vers le franchiseur. Réciproquement, de nombreux franchisés américains possèdent des actions de la société du franchiseur.
