A new preparation of Bacillus thuringiensis, known as FUTURA, has been developed at the LFRC. This super-concentrated preparation makes it possible to disperse the necessary quantity of substances active against the spruce budworm in the reduced volume of 2.5 litres per hectare. ... experiments have shown FUTURA to be highly effective in destroying larvae and in protecting foliage, confirming its operational value in the biological control of the spruce budworm.
