L'instrument fondamental d'une centrale inertielle est [...] l'accéléromètre, qui mesure l'accélération dans une direction privilégiée appelée axe sensible. Trois accéléromètres travaillent selon trois axes sensibles parfaitement déterminés par des gyroscopes associés.
