G7 = The Group of Seven, the most industrialized countries. Meetings of the G7 are usually separated into three categories: macro-economics, global affairs and political affairs. When the G7 discuss political affairs, Russia joins the discussion. Then, they identify this session as P8, P = politics and 8 = the seven countries of the G7 + Russia.
