Ses yeux, pédonculés, sont situés entre les deux paires d'antennes. Sa cinquième paire de péréiopodes (pattes locomotrices) est réduite et peu visible […] Le corps de la galathée, en position repliée, peut atteindre 60 millimètres de longueur.
