CONT

Radiofrequency gangliolysis (RFG) involves wounding the gasserian ganglion, the large, flat root of the trigeminal nerve. Guided by x-ray technology, the surgeon inserts a needle through the cheek and into the rootlets behind the gasserian ganglion to inject a radiofrequency current.
