Founded in 1989 as a non-profit organization to preserve the earth's environment, Global Action Plan for the Earth (GAP) provided a structured program to help people adopt "green" behaviours and allow them to see that their changes were making a global difference. Two separate programs were available: Journey for the Planet was offered to school children and the Community Lifestyles Program was aimed at adults.

Cette organisation sans but lucratif offrait un programme structuré pour inciter les gens à adopter des habitudes plus écologiques et pour leur faire comprendre en quoi ces changements affectaient la terre entière.
