OBS

GOMOS is an atmospheric sensor to be flown on the European satellite ENVISAT (Environmental Satellite) in 2002 as a joint project of Finland and France. The main scientific objective is to monitor ozone and ozone trends in the stratosphere and mesosphere. This task is achieved by measuring stellar spectra in the ultraviolet to near infrared range while stars are being eclipsed by the Earth.
