The Federal/Provincial Joint Action Committee on Corrections and Mental Health and the Federal/Provincial/Territorial Task Force on High-Risk Violent Offenders are examining ways in which the gaps between the criminal justice and mental health systems can be bridged. This work, however, applies to more serious offenses committed by mentally ill individuals.
