The purpose of this reseach was to evaluate the effects of transference and counter-transference on employees working in total institutions. Twenty subjects were interviewed: ten psychiatric workers employed at the Rivière-des-Prairies Hospital as nurses or educators and 10 workers from penal institutions working at the Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines Institution as case management officers, corrections officers or program officers.

La recherche menée dans le cadre de cette étude visait à évaluer les effets du transfert et du contre-transfert sur les employés travaillant en milieu fermé. Vingt personnes ont été interviewées : 10 intervenants en psychiatrie, travaillant à l'Hôpital Rivières-des-Prairies, en tant qu'infirmiers ou éducateurs et 10 intervenants en milieu pénitentiaire, travaillant à l'Établissement Ste-Anne-des-Plaines, en tant qu'agents de gestion de cas, agents de correction ou agents de programme.
