LEAD International (LEAD) is a charitable company created in response to the 1992 Earth Summit. Its mission is to identify and train a new generation of leaders, from different sectors of society throughout the world, in leadership skills and sustainable development. LEAD International (LEAD) was incorporated on 21 September 2000 as a company limited by a guarantee and is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association. On 13 September 2005 the company changed its name from Leadership for Environment and Development (UK) to LEAD International to reflect the company's new role as the secretariat for its network of Fellows around the world.
