Chemically reactive compound that is designed to resemble a substrate of an enzyme, so that it binds specifically to the active site and forms covalent bonds with the protein residues. 1, record 1, English, - affinity%20label
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The reaction of an affinity label with an enzyme involves the initial formation of a reversibly bound enzyme-inhibitor complex followed by covalent modification and hence irreversible inhibition.... Affinity labels are very useful for identifying catalytically important residues and determining their pKa, values from the pH dependence of the rate of modification. 2, record 1, English, - affinity%20label

1, record 1, French, - marqueur%20d%27affinit%C3%A9
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
2, record 1, French, - marqueur%20d%27affinit%C3%A9
