On parle depuis peu de l'existence d'un composé qui se forme en forte profondeur et que l'on nomme méthane hydraté (CH4,xH2O). Ce composé n'est stable qu'à basse température et à très haute pression (d'où la nécessité de forte profondeur) mais devient gazeux en remontant à la surface, provoquant ainsi une chute de la densité de l'eau (bouillonnement), entraînant le naufrage des bateaux et des explosions d'avions lorsque le méthane, devenu gazeux, s'élève dans les airs et s'introduit dans les réacteurs d'appareils passant dans la même zone... 5, record 1, French, - m%C3%A9thane%20hydrat%C3%A9
