Méthode utilisée pour convertir un nombre décimal en nombre binaire : on divise progressivement le nombre décimal par deux, en inscrivant le reste de la division. Les restes pris dans l'ordre inverse donnent l'équivalent binaire. Ex. : 5 / 2 = 2, reste 1 2 / 2 = 1, reste 0 1 / 2 = 0 (2 n'est pas compris dans 1), reste 1 l'équivalent binaire du chiffre décimal 5 est 101.
