La périhépatite [...] est une péritonite localisée à l'hypocondre droit, d'origine vénérienne. [...] Elle est révélée par la laparoscopie effectuée devant des douleurs inexpliquées de l'hypocondre droit avec ou sans fièvre, ainsi que par des douleurs abdomino-pelviennes ou abdominales diffuses. Classiquement maladie de la femme, elle est aussi observée chez l'homme en cas de sida. La laparoscopie montre un péritoine hépatique inflammatoire avec des adhérences en «cordes de violon».
