A coon foot is sometimes presented as being simply a broken forward digit axis, and sometimes, while still a broken forward axis, as a digit with a pastern at a very low angle, parallel or nearly parallel to the ground. One may presume that in this condition heels will lower and toe will elongate; this is associated with a weak pastern, damage to the suspensory ligament or chronic founder where the horse rocks back on the heels to relieve pressure at the toe. 3, record 1, English, - coon%20foot
