Approximately doughnut-shaped region of fairly high electron density, located in the inner part of the magnetosphere and extending outwards to a distance of about four earth radii from the Earth. 2, record 1, English, - plasmasphere
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Of particular interest are measurements of the integrated electron content of the outer regions of the earth's envelope called by various names: for example, plasmasphere, protonosphere, exosphere. This region extends from the top of the ionosphere to several earth radii and terminates, somewhat sharply, at the plasmapause .... The plasmasphere acts as a reservoir of plasma for the ionosphere ... 3, record 1, English, - plasmasphere
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The term "plasmasphere" refers to a fairly well-defined region of electronic activity, while "exosphere" refers to the outermost portion of the atmosphere without reference, necessarily, to electronic characteristics. They are not considered synonyms. 4, record 1, English, - plasmasphere

3, record 1, French, - plasmasph%C3%A8re
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
4, record 1, French, - plasmasph%C3%A8re
