Les formes employées sont la plate-bande, le massif ou la corbeille. La plate-bande se présente sous l'aspect d'un rectangle allongé qui s'accompagne parfois d'éléments carrés destinés à mettre un point final à une ligne ou encore à établir la liaison avec une direction perpendiculaire. On les dispose habituellement sur une pelouse, en bordure d'une allée, en ménageant une bande de gazon de 40 ou 50 cm à 1 m de largeur. La plate-bande elle-même, suivant sa longueur, peut varier de 60 cm à 1 m ou 1,20 m.

This building's other distinctive surface treatments include the continuous, molded metal lintel course of the second floor windows, the third floor windows' granite cornice headed lintels as well as the continuous granite lintels of the top floor's arched windows.
