Record 1 1998-07-02

English

Subject field(s)
  • Prosthetic Dentistry
DEF

Stone which consists essentially of gypsum CaSO4 (2H2O) which is plaster of Paris.

OBS

Plaster particles are porous whereas hydrocal particles are non porous. Hydrocal sets slower and is much denser and harder than plaster. Colouring is usually added to hydrocal to differentiate it from ordinary plaster. It is used to pour dental casts because of the added strength needed for these casts.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Dentisterie prothétique
DEF
