The Disability Insurance (DI) Plan was designed in 1970 by Public Service management and bargaining agent representatives, in consultation with the National Joint Council (NJC) of the Public Service of Canada, to provide income protection arrangements for Public Service employees. Le Régime d'assurance-invalidité (AI) a été établi en 1970 par des représentants de la direction de la fonction publique et des agents négociateurs, en collaboration avec le Conseil national mixte (CNM) de la fonction publique du Canada, afin de protéger le revenu des fonctionnaires.
