Waste Reduction Week in Canada aims to inform and engage Canadians about the environmental and social ramifications of wasteful practices. It strives to educate, engage and empower Canadians to reduce, reuse and recycle waste. Since 2001, Waste Reduction Week in Canada has been organized by a coalition of non-government, not-for-profit environment groups and governments from each of the 13 participating provincial and territorial jurisdictions across Canada. WRW is currently held the third week of October each year.

La Semaine canadienne de réduction des déchets a pour objectif d’informer et de sensibiliser les Canadiennes et Canadiens aux ramifications sociales et environnementales du gaspillage. La SCRD s’efforce d’éduquer, de sensibiliser et de donner les outils nécessaires à tous les Canadiennes et Canadiens afin de réduire, réutiliser et recycler les déchets. Depuis 2001, la Semaine canadienne de réduction des déchets a été organisée par une coalition de groupes environnementaux non gouvernementaux et sans but lucratif de même que les gouvernements des treize provinces et territoires du Canada. À l’heure actuelle, la SCRD a lieu la troisième semaine du mois d’octobre chaque année.
