In 1978, the CCRA (Canada Customs and Revenue Agency) started its Detector Dog Service (DDS) as a pilot project in the Windsor district. The CCRA currently has 42 dog teams strategically located in all six regions across Canada, serving both travelers and commercial operations. The DDS plays an important role in the interdiction of narcotics and firearms entering the country and in assisting the CCRA in fulfilling its commitment to strengthen the success and efficiency of the Anti-Smuggling Initiative. 2, record 1, English, - Detector%20Dog%20Service

En 1978, l'ADRC (Agence des douanes et du revenu du Canada) a mis sur pied le Service de chiens détecteurs à titre de projet pilote dans le district de Windsor. À l'heure actuelle, l'ADRC compte 42 équipes de chiens détecteurs postées stratégiquement dans les six régions du Canada, où les voyageurs et les expéditions commerciales sont traités. Le Service de chiens détecteurs joue un rôle important, car il prévient l'entrée de stupéfiants et d'armes à feu au pays.
