Following its meeting on December 12 and 13, 2001, the Commission granted temporary exemptions from the licensing requirements of the Nuclear Safety and Control Act (NSCA) and regulations to unlicensed uranium tailings management sites in Canada to allow the licensing processes to be completed (reference: Minutes of CNSC Meeting held December 13 and 14, 2001, Annex B).
