English

Subject field(s)
  • Plastic Materials
CONT

Chlorine-containing polymers such as poly(vinyl) chloride), vinyl chloride copolymers, and poly (vinylidene chloride) tend to lose hydrogen chloride when heated or exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Hydrocarbon polymers containing tertiary carbon atoms such as polypropylene and polystyrene are also susceptible to thermal and UV degradation.... Antioxidants, discussed in the previous section, are usually effective heat and ultraviolet stabilizers for polypropylene.

Domaine(s)

DEF

CONT
