Tel-Aide Outaouais a été fondé en 1974 par un groupe de francophones qui oeuvraient jusqu'alors au Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region. L'organisme a été officiellement constitué en corporation en vertu d'une charte du gouvernement fédéral. Depuis 1988, Tel-Aide Outaouais offre, via le programme de santé mentale de la Régie régionale de l'Outaouais, une ligne téléphonique sans frais pour toute la zone rurale de la région administrative 07. Tel-Aide Outaouais est un organisme communautaire à but non lucratif dont la mission consiste à offrir un service d'écoute téléphonique en français pour toute personne de l'Outaouais et de la région d'Ottawa ayant besoin d'aide, de soutien et de référence.
