Le test de piétinement, mis au point par le japonais Fukuda, illustre notamment un de ces réflexes : quand un sujet, les yeux fermés et les bras tendus devant lui piétine sur place, on observe qu'il tourne un peu sur lui-même. Le test de Fukuda permet de mesurer l'amplitude de cette déviation, normalement inférieure à 30%.

OBS

Il consiste à demander au sujet de piétiner, au rythme de un pas par seconde, en levant le genou de 45° environ, les bras tendus en avant.
