Trichocéphalose. Trichuris trichiura est un ver cosmopolite qui touchait autrefois 10 à 20 % des français métropolitains. Il est aujourd'hui sans doute beaucoup plus rare. Petit ver hématophage implanté dans la muqueuse colique (3 à 5 mm de long). L'œuf, éliminé dans les selles, ne devient infestant qu'en 1 à 12 mois, et le reste plusieurs années. La contamination se fait par les eaux souillées.
