  • Audio Technology
DEF

The magnitude of a complex a-f current as measured in volume units (VU) on a standard volume indicator.

OBS

When interpreted more loosely, "volume" may take on "loudness" and "soundintensity" as synonyms, although all three are, technically speaking, different parameters having their own units of measure. "Loudness" is defined in terms of subjective auditory sensation.

English

Subject field(s)
  • Analytical Chemistry
CONT

Concentration scales ... Weight percent is the number of parts of weight of solute per hundred parts of solution (total) ... Gaseous mixtures, being difficult to weigh, are often expressed as volume percent. Thus, air is said to contain 78% Nitrogen by volume. Solutions of liquids in liquids (say, alcohol in water) may also be expressed in volume percent.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Chimie analytique
CONT

Pourcentage.
