Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Stabilisation and orientation by inertial flywheels consists in accurately aligning the axes of three flywheels with the axes of reference (roll, pitch and yaw). When one of these flywheels is moved in yaw by an electric motor, its angular moment increases and the vehicle is subjected to a reactive couple. Inertial flywheels provide very fine control of orientation or stabilisation, because the couples set up may be very small. 1, record 2, English, - inertial%20flywheel

The critical part of a gyroscope is the spinning wheel, which an electric motor keeps it spinning at a rate of more than 20,000 rpm. A gyroscope wheel cross section will vary in different gyroscopes, but the general design aim is to provide the greatest moment of inertial consistent with adequate strength and heat dissipation. 2, record 3, English, - spinning%20wheel

The gyroscope is a rotor, or spinning wheel, rotating at high speed in a universal mounting, called a gimbal, so its axle can be pointed in any direction. 4, record 3, English, - spinning%20wheel

Record 3, Textual support, French
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
12, record 3, French, - rotor
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 CONT
6, record 3, French, - rotor
Record number: 3, Textual support number: 3 CONT

1, record 4, French, - volant
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
1, record 4, French, - volant
