Arthrite post-traumatique. 2, record 7, French, - arthrite%20post%2Dtraumatique

Common acute or chronic inflammation of the joint capsule of the carpus and the associated structures in horses. 5, record 16, English, - carpitis
Record number: 16, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Some confusion exists regarding the terms carpitis and osselets; therefore, a definition is appropriate. Carpitis is an acute or chronic inflammation of the carpal joint that may involve the fibrous joint capsule, synovial membrane, associated ligaments, and bones of the carpus ... Osselets has been defined as a traumatic arthritis of the metacarpophalangeal joint. It is more appropriate to restrict the term osselets to describe the thickening associated with synovitis and capsulitis of the fibrous joint capsule at the dorsal aspect of the metacarpophalangeal joint. Ossification can develop as a chronic change. 6, record 16, English, - carpitis

The acute form is common in Thoroughbreds in training. Carpitis is usually attributed to concussion from hard training, especially in immature and unfit horses. Injury to the dorsal aspect of the carpus is a common cause, especially in hunters and jumpers. 9, record 16, English, - carpitis

Periosteal inflammation on the anterior aspect of the epiphysis of the large metacarpal bone, the proximal end of the first phalanx and the joint capsule of the fetlock. Caused by overtraining of young horses. 2, record 31, English, - osselets
Record number: 31, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Some confusion exists regarding the terms carpitis and osselets; therefore, a definition is appropriate. Carpitis is an acute or chronic inflammation of the carpal joint that may involve the fibrous joint capsule synovial membrane, associated ligaments, and bones of the carpus ... Osselets has been defined as a traumatic arthritis of the metacarpophalangeal joint. It is more appropriate to restrict the term osselets to describe the thickening associated with synovitis and capulitis of the fibrous joint capsule at the dorsal aspect of the metacarpophalangeal joint. Ossification can develop as a chronic change. 3, record 31, English, - osselets

1, record 31, French, - arthrite%20chronique%20d%C3%A9formante%20du%20carpe

GOUT - Synonyms include podagra, crystalline arthritis (uric acid). In past centuries, the term gout meant a drop of diseased "humours"... Gout is now considered a metabolic disease occurring in paroxysms, with painfully inflamed joints, deposits of uric acid crystals in the joints and fibrous parts about the joints, and usually an elevated serum uric acid. It is usually monoarticular. 1, record 32, English, - crystalline%20arthritis
