The racer Coluber constrictor is the only species of its kind in North America. Three subspecies have been identified in Canada: the western yellow-bellied racer Coluber constrictor mormon, the eastern yellow-bellied racer Coluber constrictor flaviventris, and the blue racer Coluber constrictor foxii.
