Basés sur différentes technologies, infra-rouge, ondes acoustiques, résistives, capacitives, les écrans tactiles ne se limitent pas aux applications grand public mais s'installent aussi bien à bord du Rafale que sur des lignes de fabrication industrielle. La technologie capacitive réalise un bon compromis entre le prix, les performances techniques et la robustesse. La société MORS fournit des kits d'adaptation pour transformer des écrans standards (bombés ou plats) en écrans tactiles basés sur cette technologie, associant une face active céramique conductrice (sur support verre) à une détection capacitive. Un kit comprend une dalle de 3 mm d'épaisseur à rapporter sur l'écran d'origine, une carte de gestion (carte contrôleur) et une alimentation. Les tables à digitaliser utilisent également ces technologies pour repérer la position du «stylo électronique» sur la surface de travail.
