The Avalanche Terrain Exposure Scale (ATES) classifies mountain terrain into three categories of complexity [Simple, Challenging, Complex] with regard to avalanche exposure. The system offers two models: technical, and public communication. The technical model has been designed for users trained and skilled in evaluating the subtle nuances of avalanche terrain. The public communication model is designed for communicating technical concepts to the largely unaware public. 1, record 1, English, - Avalanche%20Terrain%20Exposure%20Scale

1, record 1, French, - %C3%89chelle%20d%26rsquo%3Bexposition%20en%20terrain%20avalancheux
