Procédé d'impression basé sur la modulation d'un champ magnétique et utilisant un support d'impression non traité. L'impression se fait de la façon suivante : les têtes d'écriture composent point par point une image latente sur un tambour métallique tournant à la vitesse constante d'un tour par seconde. La boîte à encre met en contact avec le tambour des particules d'encre magnétique qui, attirées, révèlent l'image enregistrée, image qui est transférée ensuite sur le papier par un rouleau presseur. Enfin, par chauffage, on fait fondre la résine contenue dans l'encre pour la faire adhérer au papier.
