Child pornography means any written material whose dominant characteristic is the description, for a sexual purpose, of sexual activity with a person under the age of eighteen years that would be an offence under this Act ... 5, record 1, English, - child%20sexual%20abuse%20material

child sexual abuse material: The designation "child sexual abuse material" has been suggested to replace "child pornography" to avoid trivializing the sexual abuse and exploitation of children as the word "pornography" generally refers to adults engaging in consensual sexual acts distributed legally to the general public. 6, record 1, English, - child%20sexual%20abuse%20material

2, record 1, French, - mat%C3%A9riel%20de%20maltraitance%20sexuelle%20d%26rsquo%3Benfants

During the voir dire, Dr. Marshall discussed delayed disclosure of child sexual abuse, based on his knowledge of the scientific literature in the area. He testified that there are many factors which can affect the timing of a complaint, including the relationship between the child and the abuser and the nature of the abuse. Some factors might discourage children from reporting abuse, such as embarrassment; fear of getting themselves or others into trouble; bribery or threats by the perpetrator; fear of being punished or sent away; disruption of the family; or fear that they would not be believed. Young children might also not fully comprehend what happened or not see anything wrong with the abuse. 3, record 2, English, - child%20sexual%20abuse

Sexual abuse does not need to include physical contact between a perpetrator and a victim. Some forms of child sexual abuse include: exhibitionism, or exposing oneself to a minor; masturbation in the presence of a minor or forcing the minor to masturbate; engaging the child in looking at, watching or being a part of sexualized pictures; obscene phone calls, text messages, or digital interaction; engaging the child in the taking of sexual images of the child; any other sexual conduct that is harmful to a child's mental, emotional, or physical welfare. 3, record 3, English, - child%20sexual%20abuse
