Clinical Practice Guidelines of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC). Deals with transport of pregnant women. The introduction reads as follows: "Transport of high-risk pregnant women, mothers and neonates is recognized as an essential component of modern perinatal care. The outcome for the high risk neonate is improved if transported antenatally to a referral centre that can provide immediate intensive pediatric evaluation and support for the newborn. These guidelines are intended to assist nurses and physicians involved in the emergency transfer of the pregnant woman".

L'issue est en effet plus favorable pour le bébé à haut risque lorsqu'on le transfère avant la naissance dans un centre de référence où l'on pourra effectuer sur-le-champ une évaluation pédiatrique approfondie et lui offrir les services de soutien qu'il exigera. Les présentes directives visent à faciliter la tâche du personnel infirmier et médical qui participe au transfert d'urgence de la femme enceinte».
