Carathéodory (Constantin), mathématicien grec (Berlin 1873-Munich 1950). Outre ses travaux en calcul des variations, il a fait des recherches en théorie des fonctions d'une variable complexe et d'une variable réelle. Dans cette dernière, il a vulgarisé la notion de mesure et la théorie générale de l'intégration (de Borel, Lebesgue) et inauguré l'axiomatisation moderne de la théorie.
