METHODE CHIMIQUE [5 records]

Record 1 2016-03-08

English

Subject field(s)
  • Oil Production
CONT

Chemical enhanced oil recovery (EOR) includes processes in which chemicals are injected to improve oil recovery.

OBS

Chemical methods are one of three categories of EOR, the others being thermal and miscible.

Key term(s)
  • chemical EOR

French

Domaine(s)
  • Production pétrolière
CONT

Improved oil recovery by surfactant and polymer flooding [...].

Subject field(s)
  • Photoelectricity and Electron Optics
OBS

The construction of novel types of fibre lasers often requires doped fibres which first have to be designed, manufactured and finally characterised. In this presentation we give a comprehensive survey of the development of novel doped multiple clad fibers. Starting with a design of the refractive index profile of such a fibre, we have optimised the manufacturing based on an MCVD (modified chemical vapor deposition) process. Tests of the manufactured fibre including the measurements of the absorption spectrum and the dopant concentration are reported.

Key term(s)
  • MCVD process

French

Domaine(s)
  • Photo-électricité et optique électronique
DEF

English

Subject field(s)
  • Genetics
DEF

A technique for sequencing nucleic acids based on the differential ability of the four organic bases to react with various reagents such as a piperidine and hydrazine. It requires the use of end-labelled nucleic acid.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Génétique
DEF

Subject field(s)
  • Hydrology and Hydrography
  • Geology
OBS

The most common reaction method is probably the carbide method of soil moisture measurement in which calcium carbide is mixed with the soil sample. Calcium carbide reacts with the moisture in the soil (...) If the mixture is placed in a tight container, the amount of water in the sample can be evaluated in terms of either the pressure-temperature increase of the gas, or the loss of weight of the sample as calculated by measuring the weight of acetylene gas produced.

Domaine(s)
  • Hydrologie et hydrographie
  • Géologie
OBS
