The narrow-mouthed toads (Microhylidae) are divided into seven or eight subfamilies, and are closely related to true frogs and rhacophorids. The vertebrae are diplasiocoelous or procollous. The pectoral girdle is firmisternal, and often only vestigial. Many species lack teeth.
