2, record 1, French, - microrafale%20humide

Downburst with a small lateral extent, about 1 to 4 km, and lasting only a short time. 4, record 2, English, - microburst
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The microburst has a strong downflow descending very close to the ground. The ground turns the vertical winds into horizontal winds. The maximum horizontal extent of a microburst is on the order of 4 km in diameter but can be less than 1 km in diameter. Despite this small scale, an intense microburst can induce horizontal wind radials as high as 160 km/h. 5, record 2, English, - microburst

3, record 2, French, - microrafale
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT

Microbursts result as a strong downflow bursts from a parent cloud and strike the Earth's surface at an angle (usually) off-the-vertical. The air striking the Earth flows out from the centre (called an "outflow") at speeds which depend on the downflow speed and striking angle. As the outflowing air undercuts the surface air, a vertical roll begins to develop that eventually encircles the downflow centre as a horizontal vortex ring. 1, record 3, English, - outflow

2, record 4, French, - microrafale%20en%20rouleaux
