International video compression standard adopted by CCITT in December 1990. It is designed for facilitating the transmission of video images over digital networks at data rates ranging from 64 KBps to 2.048 MBps. Based on DCT algorithm also used in the JPEG and MPEG compression standards.

Specifies a transmission format called Px64, which requires that video codecs must support transmission speeds from 56/64 kbps.
