When calculating overall accuracy, the uncertainty in the following factors shall be taken into account to the extent appropriate to the dosimetry service offered: energy response, linearity, directionality, which should be characteristic of each type of dosimeter, and batch homogeneity. These uncertainties, and hence the overall accuracy, can be determined through the type testing of each type of dosimeter. The overall accuracy requirements ... include both absolute and relative errors (i.e., bias and precision). The accuracy shall be based on a traceable standard.
