Park is open year-round and the Rogers Pass Information Centre is open 5 days a week. There are 2 campgrounds in the park containing 77 campsites. Glacier also has some designated backcountry camping areas as well as areas where random camping is allowed. Backcountry campers are not required to register, however there is a voluntary registration program. Visitors should check with the park in advance of their trip to find out what services are provided. Visitors overnighting in the backcountry are required to purchase Wilderness Passes (based on the number of nights stayed), this in addition to a daily park pass. The Rogers Pass Information Centre is the main interpretive and general information centre for Glacier National Park. The Rogers Pass Information Centre is located in the heart of the park. It is 70 kms east of Revelstoke, B.C. and 80 kms west of Golden, B.C.
