CONT

In order to assess the potential of SoRs [subordinates-once-removed] and to be able to effectively counsel them about their future careers, MoRs [managers-once-removed] must be proactive in getting to know their SoRs. The basis of the relationship between an MoR and an SoR, to be effective, is respect and trust. This respect and trust will be earned by the manner in which the MoR carries out his or her accountabilities. This will require MoRs to be open to discussion.
