El aceite de argán es el aceite más caro del mundo, por lo que también es llamado el oro líquido de Marruecos. Está compuesto hasta en un 80% de ácidos grasos esenciales (ácido linoleico 50 %, ácido alfalinolénico 15 %, ácido oleico 12 %, ácido araquidónico 1 %, ácido gammalinolénico 3 %) y contiene grandes cantidades de tocoferoles (vitamina E) (casi tres veces más que el aceite de oliva) y fitoesteroles (D-7steroles).
