CLONAGEM DNA [5 records]

Record 1 2013-03-08

English

Subject field(s)
  • Genetics
DEF

A replicon used for the transformation of cells in gene manipulation.

OBS

Small plasmids, viruses and bacteriophages are suitable, since they are replicons in their own right. They can be artificially constructed by cutting and joining DNA molecules from different sources using restriction enzymes and ligases.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Génétique
DEF

Record 2 2012-09-25

English

Subject field(s)
  • Genetics
DEF

The purification and isolation of individual fragments of DNA or a mixture of DNA fragments by their incorporation into a carrier DNA (vector) to form a recombinant DNA that can be multiplied up into a bacterial host.

OBS

Not to be confused with "gene cloning" which is defined as the isolation of DNA into a particular gene.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Génétique
DEF

Record 3 2012-08-31

English

Subject field(s)
  • Genetics
DEF

The addition of complementary bases to the ends of blunt-ended foreign and vector DNA sequences so that they may base-pair to form a recombinant DNA molecule.

OBS

For example, poly(dG) [polydeoxyguanylic acid] may be added to the ends of the foreign DNA while poly(dC) [polydeoxycytidylic acid] is added to ends of the vector DNA. The enzyme catalysing these transfer reactions is called terminal transferase.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Génétique
CONT

English

Subject field(s)
  • Genetics
CONT

The Bartels PRIMA SystemTM Cytomegalovirus IgM Enzyme Immunoassay is a rapid, qualitative method for the detection of IgM Antibody to cytomegalovirus in human serum. Patient serum is diluted with specimen diluent that contains an absorbent to remove IgG. The absorbent prevents IgG/rheumatoid factor complexes from forming and prevents interfering competition from IgG during the test procedure. The treated serum is incubated with purified CMV antigens bound to EIA plate wells. If antibodies to CMV are present, they bind to the antigen and do not rinse off. Subsequently, when enzyme labeled anti-human IgM is added to the reaction site, it binds to the immobilized antibodies. After washing and the addition of a chromogenic substrate and stop solution, specimens containing antibodies to CMV produce a color endpoint reaction which is measured and compared to negative and positive controls, and may be measured spectrophotometrically.

CONT

Record 5 2012-07-18

English

Subject field(s)
  • Genetics
DEF

A piece of DNA made to contain many restriction enzyme sites, so that the vector can be cut at that one place for splicing into other genes.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Génétique
DEF

Lieur possédant plusieurs sites de restriction.

Spanish

Campo(s) temático(s)
  • Genética
DEF
