Several methods have been proposed to remove space debris. Most of the proposed methods fall into two main categories, active and passive debris removal. Active space debris removal includes using a net, a robotic arm, or a built-in internal propulsion. The net method involves using a net to catch large and slow-moving debris. The robotic arm method has been proposed to capture failed or abandoned satellites in high orbits. The built-in internal propulsion method can be used to deorbit large satellites at high altitudes. At the end of the satellite's life, the internal propulsion system can fire and change the orbit to either descend rapidly into the Earth's atmosphere or into deep space. 1, record 4, English, - active%20space%20debris%20removal

Technological progress in space operations autonomy and robotics will disrupt the traditional paradigm of spacecraft design, acquisition, launch, operations, and maintenance. Within the next 5 to 10 years, routine spacecraft refueling could become a reality, and spacecraft low on propellant could avoid decommissioning and enjoy extended lifetimes. A new generation of cooperative spacecraft designed specifically for on-orbit servicing (OOS) could upgrade their own hardware every few years. ... The active debris removal (ADR) concept has continuously evolved for the debris removal from the LEO [low Earth orbit] region. One of the evolving ADR methods is space robotics which has continuously matured over a couple of decades. In space robotics, the satellite system consists of a robotic arm mounted over it which can be called a debris chaser satellite. The main function of the debris chaser satellite is to chase, capture and de-orbit the space junk to a very low earth orbit. 2, record 8, English, - chaser%20satellite

19, record 16, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20de%20navigation%20par%20inertie

Climate models use quantitative methods to simulate the interactions of the atmosphere, oceans, land surface, and ice. They are used for a variety of purposes from study of the dynamics of the weather and climate system to projections of future climate. The most talked-about models of recent years have been those relating air temperature to emissions of carbon dioxide ... These models predict an upward trend in the surface temperature record, as well as a more rapid increase in temperature at higher altitudes. 3, record 26, English, - climate%20model

Scientists have been attempting to model how changes in the levels of greenhouse gases are going to impact on the earth's climate over the next century. Current climate models do simulate recent climate change remarkably accurately. However, such models are sensitive to large numbers of parameters and the effects of small perturbations on them is not well understood. 4, record 26, English, - climate%20model

1, record 26, Spanish, - modelo%20clim%C3%A1tico

Physical basis of remote sounding. A sounding is a vertical profile of atmospheric temperature, moisture or some other parameter.
